Comet Hartley (Main)

Comet Hartley (Main)

The comet is petrol blue and below the double cluster of stars in Perseus. By stacking more than one frame using an Astrotrac to keep the camera targeted at the star field. The DSLR was placed on a bulb setting. This was interesting to track as seeing conditions were never clear enough to see this comet with binoculars. The double cluster is easily seen with the naked eye if they are dark adapted to and we look at the correct part with averted vision. Light pollution creeps into the edge of the frame.
