A collection of astronomical images, most of which are taken from a sturdy tripod, using a DSLR on its Bulb setting. Longer exposures were taken using an astrotrac. A fast standard lens, F1.8 and 35 to 50mm lens is ideal for large objects like the milky way, but smaller objects a long telephoto lens is needed, but this brings in its own problems, like longer exposures, and more effective balancing of the camera.
