Reading School has been around for way over 500 years. Many famous people have been involved in it's history and needless to say it would take far too long to write about it here.
Curiously many events have been commemorated by the inclusion of stained glass windows in the various school buildings.
My Job was to photograph one or some of these windows to use as greeting cards and for school leaflets and posters.
Saint Celia (the patron saint of music) presented me with quite difficult problems. It was taken on a cloudy day deliberately to reduce contrast, and with a view camera so as to correct against converging verticals.
I had film left over so I shot a further window Saint Michael. This presented a new problem as buildings exterior to the window made part of the image quite dark, and so I used a graduated filter to make the window appear more evenly lit.
